LOCATION AND TRAVEL

The University Bordeaux 1 in Talence is located about 10 min by tramway to the center of Bordeaux.

Bordeaux, the famous regional capital of Aquitaine, is the best preserved 18^th century architectural complex in the world.

Its white stone façades, parks, original cobblestone streets, and elegant boulevards are some of the many aspects which seduce visitors, and ranks Bordeaux among Europe's most beautiful cities.

Famous local attractions: Medieval village of S^t Emilion perched above the vineyards, prestigious wines and "chateaux", long sandy beaches, the largest pine forest in Europe, the highest sand dune (105 metres, background photography), which plunges down into the sea, and Arcachon Bay…

The symposium will take place at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie et de Physique de Bordeaux (ENSCPB) located on the campus of the University of Bordeaux 1 in Talence-Pessac.

Bordeaux can be reached by international flights or fast intercity trains (Three hours from Paris by TGV)

ACCOMMODATION

The Organising committee has selected some hotels located in the historical center of Bordeaux (at 6 km from the airport and 2 km from the train station).

A bus shuttle will be available every morning (0 to 10 min walking distance from the selected hotels) to reach the conference site on the campus (~ 15 min).

Accommodation in one of these hotels is optional.

Please remember that Bordeaux is one of the most popular tourist cities in France (particularly in summer), so that reservation should be done at your earliest convenience.
